Join Us for a Press Conference and Rally at the Capitol in Hartford on Friday

THE “CONSTITUTION STATE” GETS A CONSTITUTION LOBBY!

A major announcement will be made at a news conference in Hartford, CT. on
July 1, 2011 at 10:00 a.m., on the north steps of the Capitol building.
For the first time in the history of this nation, because the Constitution cannot defend itself, We the People of Connecticut, Inc. has formed a Constitution Lobby – of the People, for the People and by the People – solely for the purpose of defending the Constitution and the rule of law.
The Constitution State is the first State in the nation to have a Constitution lobby.
Grassroots individuals formed “We the People of Connecticut, Inc.” as a permanent, non-political, not-for-profit organization, specifically to lobby on behalf of the U.S. Constitution, the Connecticut Constitution and our local City Charters. While others may lobby for or against a variety of political issues, no one yet has formed a non-political lobby specifically and solely, designed to defend the Constitution on purely legal, not political, grounds.
The purpose is to organize a large number of ordinary people from all across the state into a massive Constitutional Lobby – to be a more formidable force than all the lobbies and unions now in Connecticut- which will keep a permanent watchful eye on what government is doing at every level, and will hold those in power directly accountable to the State and federal Constitution and the rule of law.
There will be Constitution monitors in each town across the State, in addition to Constitution monitors watching state and federal officials. When monitors find official action believed to violate the Constitution, they will report that violation to the statewide offices of We the People of Connecticut, Inc. where a Citizen’s Vigilance Center will be permanently established and staffed by attorneys who will review the action and take any and all appropriate legal steps to correct the violation.
We the People of Connecticut, Inc. also is kicking off a statewide tour to further explain the Constitution Lobby and to invite all who want top be part of the Constitution Lobby for Connecticut., who see the need for much more government accountability, to join and become Constitutional monitors. The first meeting of the tour will take place at the Huntington Library 41 Church Street, Shelton, CT 06484, at 7PM on July 5.
