Tell The Governor To Obey The Law On NOV. 10th

The Date: Thursday, November 10th

The Place: CT Legislative Office Building, 300 Capitol Ave, Room 1A, Hartford, CT

We have asked the legislature to act...... and they have!!!

This is a public hearing regarding the constitutionality of Executive Orders 9 & 10!! Everyone needs to be at this hearing!! We need to pack the place!!!

The Governor's Executive Orders 9 & 10 are unconstitutional!! He has usurped the authority of the legislature while trying to unionize daycare workers and personal care attendants. The legislature wants to know what the people of this state think about it.......... Now is our chance!!! Are we really going to sit back while out Connecticut Constitution is completely disregarded? Are we going to let there be no consequences? Or are we going to stand for our state's Constitution and the rule of law? We need to stand up and let them know we are not going to sit back and do nothing!! This is when we can flex OUR muscle and let them see we mean business!! We need you there, we need you to spread the word and bring everyone you can!!

We need to show them that WE THE PEOPLE are paying attention!!!! We need you to be at the legislatures hearing on Executive Orders 9 & 10 on Nov 10th!!

A Victory For The People!!!!

"Victory for the People!!!  Thanks to the efforts of We The People of Connecticut, Inc, Connecticut's Constitution Lobby, the Governor seems to have started to adhere to the Constitution.

The Constitution Lobby notified the Governor that his Executive Orders 9 and 10 contain provisions which are unconstitutional, and usurped the authority of the Legislature, and asked the Governor to amend or rescind them. When there was no response from the Governor, the Constitution Lobby notified the Legislature that we expect them to hold an inquiry into those Executive Orders.

While we were waiting to hear when the Legislature will hold it's hearing, the Governor issued Executive Order 11, which adheres to his Executive Branch authority. More importantly, the last paragraph of Executive Order 11 states, 'Nothing in this Order shall be deemed to contradict or supercede any statute or Constitutional provisions, and this Order is not intended to suspend, modify or revoke any statutory provisions enacted by the General Assembly."

So it appears that the Governor knows the people are watching and will hold him accountable to his oath of office to uphold the Constitution.  Congratulations to the people of the state of Connecticut for taking back the power which belongs to them!"

My Apologizies

I must first apologize for not living up to the standard I set for myself. You see I wanted this to be THE source for information regarding We The People Of Connecticut and I dropped the ball. We have been very busy and have limited time and man power. We are all volunteers doing this in our "spare" time, we have jobs and or have businesses to run as well as personal lives and We The People. While the organization has been moving forward, some portions of the organization have been neglected, this being one of them. I am refocusing my efforts regarding this blog and it will live up to the standard I have set.

In addition to our events and actions we will begin posting pieces regarding the Constitution both State and Federal as well as informational pieces about a wide range of topics.

In the last month we have taken action regarding 2 Executive Orders Governor Malloy has issued. Executive Order #9 attempted to unionize child care providers (Daycare workers) in the state. And Executive Order #10 attempted to unionize all home health aids in the state. We The People Of Connecticut has taken action regarding both of these unconstitutional Executive Orders.

The action taken so far regarding EO 9 include an open letter to Governor Malloy notifying him that he is in violation of the Connecticut Constitution and asking him to rescind it immediately. This was done on September 26th 2011.

Executive Order #10 similarly attempts to unionize all Personal Care Attendants. Which include in-home healthcare providers for the elderly or disabled. The Governor was notified as to the unconstitutional nature of this Executive Oder as well with a letter outlining the violations and again asking that the order be rescinded. This took place on October 3rd 2011.

Here is where we catch up to our current action. Yesterday, October 17th, We The People Of Connecticut formally petitioned the Connecticut Legislature to begin formal inquires into the unconstitutional actions of the Governor regarding Executive Orders 9 & 10. We are asking for an official bi-partisan inquiry and for the legislature to take the appropriate action to make these Executive Orders conform the Connecticut's State Constitution.

All of the above actions can be viewed in detail on our website in the "actions" tab. We have a link to it on the left side of this blog under "Useful Links". Please read them, they are very informative.
I will renew my pledge to make this THE first source for the latest news regarding our actions and events. Again, I apologize for not keeping up, there will always be room for improvement, but I will do my best.

We are always looking for people to help us. As this organization gets bigger (as it has been doing over the last few months) it is becoming harder for us to focus on what we need to do. If you would like to help, please contact us at wethepeopleofconnecticut@gmail.com. We are looking for all sorts of help, we are spreading ourselves way too thin!! So if you are thinking you would like to get involved some how and politics as usual is not your cup of tea, try going in a constitutional direction!! We could use your help.

Thanks,
William Heering

This Week With We The People! 8/6 - 8/14

Wow folks what a week we have had. It is truly exciting to meet people and feel the enthusiasm for the We The People project.

We started just over a week ago on August 6&7 at Blue Trails Range in Wallingford. We were there for two days sharing a booth with another non-political/ non-partisan group Oath Keepers. We would like to thank Oath Keepers for inviting us to join them. The turn out was excellent and the crowd was extremely receptive to our message. We handed out tons of cards and literature as well. The sound of the free exercise of Second Amendment rights in the background was music to our ears!!

We next joined the Spirits Of '76 group at Bogey's Pub in Torrington on August 10th. We would like to thank Keith Farrell, the Founder and President of the group, for providing a forum for our presentation and we would also like to thank all who attended. Those in attendance were well informed and had great questions and comments for us and we thank them for their participation. The Spirits Of '76 is a relatively new group of individuals based in Torrington who's objective is to enhance their community through voluntary service and to foster an environment of hands-on leadership. They are working on a food drive for their local soup kitchen as one of their first initiatives. If you are in the Torrington area and would like to know more or get involved with them check them out on Facebook at www.facebook.com/spiritsof76torrington or just type in Spirits Of '76 in the search bar on your Facebook page. Their mission is laudable and we wish them much success in this worthwhile endeavor.

Next on Friday August 12 we were at the private home of Nancy Ferguson speaking to a group of invited guests. As we are finding all over this State the people were very enthusiastic and very well informed about the current constitutional issues of the day. The questions and conversation during and after the event were inspiring and motivating. We would like to thank Nancy not only for the invitation to give our presentation, but also for the delicious food!!! The way to a constitutionalist's heart is definitely through his stomach......at least this constitutionalist!! Thanks Nancy!!!

And finally today Sunday August 14th we were in Essex for a return trip to George Fox's residence where we gave our presentation to a group of well informed and very motivated people. We would like to thank the attendees for their pledges of support and assistance in getting this group future audiences in various other forums. We look forward to working with them to get the word out. Thank you once again to George Fox who opened his home to us and our guests and for providing food for us all. His hospitality, generosity and willingness to help are inspiring!!

So it has been a busy week, but the support and positive reactions to our message is inspiring us to push on even harder than before. We have many new members and many more pledges of support and potential for additional opportunities to give presentations, some of which could prove to be for very large groups!! It was also inspiring to see young people at our presentations, it is a special honor to speak with the youth and teach them about our Constitution. It is hard work, but it is rewarding and inspiring!!

If you can pull a group of 8 to 10 people together (or more) and would like us to speak with them and give our presentation contact us at  wethepeopleofconnecticut@gmail.com , we will go anywhere in the State of Connecticut!! We will speak to any group, we are non-political and non-partisan, we are constitutional!!

I look forward to seeing you at the next presentation!!!

Thanks to all who attended this week!! It was a blast!!
